How to Receive Revelation Knowledge

An example of revelation knowledge is when you are reading the Bible and a verse leaps off the page, hits you between the eyes, and God says, “This is for you right now.” These are precious experiences for the believer. However, for many, they do not happen often enough.

There are seven things I do which allow me the privilege of receiving revelation knowledge every time I read the Bible. Truth and insights leap off the page and an understanding of how they are to adjust my life permeates my spirit and soul. I love this experience and hunger for it every time I read the Scriptures. That is why I prepare myself by doing the following seven things. I also teach these seven things at a Christian University to the students in the theological seminary. Prayerfully reflect on these steps and determine which ones you do and don’t use.

The Seven Steps of Biblical Meditation Explained:
1. Lord, cleanse me by Your blood: Since receiving divine revelation is at the heart of biblical meditation, you must prepare yourself to receive from the Holy Spirit by repenting and being cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. You must be obedient to previous revelations from God (Matt. 7:6), and confess any sin in your life, so you are not cut off from ongoing revelation (Is. 59:1,2; I Jn. 1:9).

2. Lord, grant me a teachable attitude: Revelation is given to those who maintain an attitude of humility, and it is withheld from the proud and the arrogant. So keep an open, humble attitude before God, allowing Him the freedom to shed greater light on any ideas you currently hold and to alter them as He sees fit (Jas. 4:6; II Pet. 1:19).

3. Lord, I will not use my faculties myself: You can do nothing of your own initiative but only what you hear and see by the Spirit (Jn. 5:19,20,30). You do not have a mind to use, but a mind to present to God so He can use it and fill it with anointed reason and divine vision (Prov. 3:5-7; Rom. 12:1,2). If you use your mind yourself, it is a dead work (Heb. 6:1,2).

4. Lord, I pray that the eyes of my heart might be enlightened: Slow down as you read, mulling the text over and over in your heart and mind, praying constantly for God to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Eph. 1:17,18; Ps. 119:18).

5. Lord, I present the abilities to reason and to imagine to You to fill and flow through by Your Spirit: Meditation involves presenting your faculties to God for Him to fill and use. These include your left-brain reasoning capacities as well as your right-brain visual capacities. Look for the river of God (i.e. “Spirit flow”) to guide and fill both hemispheres, granting you anointed reasoning and dream and vision (Jn. 7:37-39). Music can assist you, as can muttering, speaking, and writing as you go through the discovery process (II Kings 3:15).

6. Lord, show me the solution to the problem I am facing: Focused attention brings additional energies of concentration of heart and mind, which help release revelation. For example, note the difference between a ray of sunlight hitting a piece of paper, and sunlight going through a magnifying glass to hit a piece of paper. The focused energy creates a ray so concentrated that the paper bursts into flames. When you have a hunger to master a new understanding and discipline, that hungry and searching heart will cause you to see things you would not normally see (Matt. 5:6).

7. Thank You, Lord, for what You have shown me: Realizing that the revelation came from the indwelling Holy Spirit, give all the glory to God for what has been revealed (Eph. 3:21).

I pray over them, diagram them, analyze them, and meditate on them. That is why I have written many of my books. I write so I can learn, so I can put truths I am understanding in my own words and in a framework which is meaningful for me.

The following is the law which God gave for new kings who had just been crowned and were coming to sit upon their throne for the first time:

“Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests” (Deut. 17:18).

Since we are kings and priests, are we to do any less (I Pet 2:9)? Let us make the writing out of Scriptures an important part of our lives.

4. Reduce heat and add the shredded cheese, one handful at a time.

5. With a wooden spoon, mix well and stir regularly.

6. Add remaining ingredients.

7. Add pepper to taste.

8. If the mixture is too hard, add warm wine. If the mixture is too soft, add cheese.

9. Dip bite size pieces of bread or steamed vegetables.

If you or your guests are having fondue for the first time, make sure to inform them about the “no double-dipping” rule. You should also let your dippers cool off for a few seconds before putting them in your mouth.

But for those of you that know me, know that I much rather all of the Adwords Secrets were revealed. I, like you once had to struggle and find all of the secrets out the hard way, hopefully, by me showing you all of these Adwords Secrets, you wont have to go through that steep learning curve yourself.


Let get you set up.
This part is easy as pie. Just follow the step by step instructions below, and you can’t go wrong.

Login to your account
Select ‘Reports’ from the tabs near the top
Select ‘Create a new report’

OK, now that we’re inside, lets go deep :-)

Report Type - Select ‘Search query performance’.

Settings
Enter the specifics of how you want to track the search query. Let take a look at these in more detail:

Level of detail:
This section allows you to select which area you want to track. Adwords gives you four options. Ad, Ad Group, Campaign and Account. Depending on which option you choose, will determine which options you can select from drop down menus later in this section.

Note: I always separate my search network and content network in to different Adgroups. So for me, the best option here is ‘Ad Groups’, as I can focus on the Adwords Adgroups that are search network only. This allows me to run very targeted reports.

View (Unit of Time):
Simply, add the unit of time that you want to run your reports. I normally set this to
‘Daily’. But this will be determined by how you want to run your own campaign.

Date Range:
Select the date range that you want to view.

Campaigns and Ad Groups:
This is where it starts getting good. Adwords allows you to select whether you want to run the report for everything associated under the umbrella of the ‘Level of Detail (selected earlier)’. Or, even better than that, you have the option of selecting the exact campaign or Adgroup that you want to focus on. Once again, this depends on what option you selected within the ‘Level of Detail’ drop down menu. This is a great way of getting really targeted with your stat tracking.

Advanced Settings (Optional)

Add or Remove Columns:

This section basically allows you to select which areas of your Adwords campaign you want to view within the report. Simply check the columns that you want to use and deselect the columns that you don’t want to use.

Generally I tend to leave this option alone, as the default options are good enough.

Filter Your Results:

One of the things that I love about Googles Adwords is that they go out of there way to allow you to create your own customized setups, and this section really does give you complete control. In this section Adwords allows you to customize the exact criteria for your report. E.G - only show reports that have greater than 1000 impressions.

Here is a list of the following criteria:
Search Query
Ad Distribution
Ad Group Status
Campaign Status
Impressions
Clicks
CTR
Avg CPC
Cost
Avg Position

Google also allows you to select more than one filter, which means that you can have multiple filters per report. Simple click on ‘Add Another Restriction’ to add an additional filter.

Templates, Scheduling and Email

Name Your Report:
Simple, what do you want to call this report?

Template:
If you would like to save this as as new template then check the check box. A new template basically means that you can use this report to create another report of the back of it. E.G, you want to run the exact report but with one section different.

This can be very handy for quickly creating new reports.

Scheduling:
Adwords report Scheduling allows you to decide how often you want your new report to run. If you decide to check this option, then Adwords will give you three options - Every Day, Every Monday, First Day of Every Month. Once again, this allows you to create an even more targeted report.

Email:
For all of you who are busy and on the road a lot. why not get this report sent direct to your inbox. This feature for me is a must. I run so many campaign, the more automated it is, the better. Simply by checking this one check box will save you having to keep coming into account and search for the report. Adwords also give you the option of attaching the report to your email as a .xml, .cvs, .csv(for excel), .tsv and .html file type. Yet another great feature from the Adwords guys.

Once you have setup your report to be exactly as you like, click on the ‘Crete Report’ button to the bottom right of the screen. The will save your report, and will be instantly accessible from the ‘Main Reports’ section, where you will be able to come anytime and view the latest search query phrase tat your visitors are using.
